Product Care

Proper care of your paint protection film (PPF) is crucial to ensure its longevity and to retain the warranty. Regular cleaning with non-abrasive materials, avoiding harsh chemicals, and prompt removal of contaminants like bird droppings and tree sap will prevent damage and maintain the film's clarity and protection.

Washing & Maintaining Your Protected Vehicle.

  • Wait 7 Days after installation of film to wash your car.

Hand wash your vehicle with Ghost™ Ultra Suds to remove dirt and debris and retain its hydrophobic properties. We strongly encourage you to regularly bathe your car. However, you should skip the commercial car washes as this will void your warranty and carefully wash your vehicle by hand.

To Properly Wash Your Protected Vehicle, you should:

  1. Apply Ghost™ Ultra Suds and use a clean microfiber mitt
  2. Allow the soap to soak on tough-to-clean areas for several minutes
  3. Use a lacquer thinner or 99% isopropyl alcohol on extra-dirty areas that are hard to clean
  4. Use a microfiber towel to dry the coating
  5. Skip using paper products, brushes, or terry cloth on your car as they can dull and damage the surface
  6. Never use any abrasive materials on your car

Please Utilize the 2-bucket cleaning method. When washing your car, try using the two-bucket method. Have a bucket filled with car wash soap and another one filled with pure rinse water by your side. After you have used your wash mitt, there may be dirt or debris left over on your mitt. Before dunking your mitt in the car wash solution again, thoroughly wash it off in the bucket full of rinse water. This will vastly reduce the possibility of reintroducing debris onto your vehicle. Always wash and rinse one section of your car at a time to reduce swirl marks.

  • Remove insects or other stains as soon as possible.
  • Stubborn stains can be removed with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Take care to keep these chemicals off the vehicle’s paint.
  • Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 15-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.
  • Detailing Clay can be used to remove contaminants that are on the film.

Seal with Ghost™ Graphene Ceramic Boost at least once every 6 months to preserve high gloss and maintain the films Hydrophobic Properties.

Do Not

  • Use a pressure washer or high-pressure water source near the edges of the film, it can cause the film to lift and/or become damaged.
  • Wash your vehicle with an Automatic Car Wash or any other method other than a traditional hand wash.
  • Wash your vehicle in direct sunlight. If it’s a particularly sunny day, don’t wash your vehicle in direct sunlight. This can cause the water to quickly evaporate, leaving ugly water-spots on your car. The heat from the sun will also activate the PPF’s natural “healing” abilities, causing dirt and other debris to damage the film. We recommend always washing your car in a shady area and not on brutally sunny or hot days.
  • Allow Your Vehicle To Air Dry. Allowing your car to air-dry can cause water-spotting. Always use an automotive specific drying towel or air-blower to thoroughly dry your vehicle.
  • Attempt to Polish/Buff your paint protection film. Never attempt to polish or buff your PPF as this could cause permanent Damage/Haziness to the film.
  • Use non-Ghost branded Ceramic Coatings/Sealants.
